Got an invite to fish with Basstrich on his newly acquired boat. Jim took myself and Kobra out pre-fishing, for the up and coming Kayak Fishing Classic @ S.I.
Did some long-linin for some decent numbers, but nothing real big. Slack tide sucked, but once it got movin again, it was game on. Jim started off slow, but he was on FIRE for the last few hours. He outfished Bob for the second time in a row! :muscles: We caught sandies, spotties, sculpins, 22 lizard fish (all by Bob), 1 pancake (Jim),1 Bonita (farmed at the boat, but I'll give it to him cause he is old), and 1 pissed off Angel Shark (Jim).
About this angel shark. It was a mean little bastard. I wish I had video rollin when Bob tried to net this thing. The first unsuccessful attempt was pure comedy, and just pissed the shark off more. The second attempt pretty much kicked Bobs' ass, but they managed to get her in the boat. I was fuckin :rotfl:,the laughter stopped when we saw the teeth on this bitch. Kind of halfway between full blown mako teeth, and halibut teeth. It snapped its jaws a few times and it was pretty impressive. I wanted to get Jim and the fish in a pic. As soon as Bob hands the fish off, it lifts its head, and with a quick snap, bites onto Jim's seat. The jaws extended out about 2 inches from its mouth when she bit it, and now Jim has a permanent reminder of her.

If any of you kayakers run across one of these, just cut the line.
We had a bunch of laughs, decent fishing, and I learned alot from the day. Thanks for taking me out pre-fishing Jim, next time I'll bring a seatbelt and an ass pad.

Nice rig Jim! There was one parked in front of my pad for months/years that never saw any use. EVER. It was sad and I felt like buying it just to get it in the water where it belongs...I'm sure yours will not die the same horrible death!

Beautiful! May she carry you safely through many fish-filled adventures.

(I think I'm getting center console envy)

Paul, who needs a CC when you can sit in comfort while compressing your spinal cord into one nice, neat little bundle on a long run? Vrooom - SLAM - vrooom - SLAM - vrooooom!
