I've fished freshy bass maybe a half dozen times, so I'm simply stunned to be here at largemouth heaven. Lucky! Anyhow here's the day 1 report - Doug, wish you were here, this is Barrett and then some.

Today was a slow one by most accounts. I managed 'just' 25 bass including a PB 9-lb'er weighed, and farmed at least as many. Fish on the bank and in brush, hitting poppers and killing senkos. Photos when I return.

Day 2 report - I spent the day shooting video and stills - freakin' story subjects tanked on day 1, so I had to ride overwatch and get shots in the can. By the time I was free it was a pick. Just a dozen today, nothing over 3, but I have one more shot tomorrow. Anyway it's been unreal. To give you an idea of the possibilities, the lower circuit bass pro here had two 10s today and an 11, 10, 9 yesterday.

Photos on Mon maybe.

Ok, I'm back home. Day 3 was just a half-day. Something changed, but it wasn't obvious. The bite was very slow in the morning, but a buddy who was able to stay a bit longer said it turned on in the late afternoon. The group nailed a few 7s. What a place! Enjoy the photos:

The post-fishing view from beach-front Cardon Resort, where we stayed. It was a 30 minute drive from the lake. This is the way to go in mid-summer or any time at all.

In case you hadn't heard, there are a few big fish in El Salto

Thanks guys, I know I was incredibly lucky to make the trip. Imagine what a competent bass angler could do with the opportunity. Super cool place.
