Gopher Report

got 3 at my house in different corners of the property. Last night I stuck the hose down the front yard hole After 40 mins of filling up the tunnel's, up pops the varment. Sunk the ditch digger just 2 inches behind his rear and plopped em up onto the grass and into a bucket. Cute lil fugger. The wife begs me not to kill em, so she runs em about a 1/2 mile from the pad and into the canyon. i'm now thinking this gives me good gopher karma for the other two. When i use to catch em back in HS, we use to fling em on the outfield grass and let the hawks pick em off

Woke up this morning bright and early...Dragged the hose out to hole #2. In goes the hose for over 45 mins and nada...darn, I'm thinking now about a steel gopher trap to get this one. Last spring I had one and dusted em w/ a gopher bomb(sort looks like an m-80 but smokes). Has anyone had sucess w/ any other method's?
p.s. just got back from lunch and was walking by hole#3(side yard) when I see the 3rd one duck back into one of his holes...grrrrrrr, I'm gonna get that one after work. so far I am 1 for 2...2 for 3 will up my percentage

Buy a nice BB gun then we will fill up jugs from the keg and sit on your balcony until he pops his head up. Good fun right there. WHat do gophers eat? Set some out a few feet from his hole and wait it out.

I've been trying to get one (or more) at work lately. I consider myself fairly ninja-like, but alas, even I cannot get them with a yard rake. However, a neighborhood cat snagged one two days ago, maybe that's your answer. Go to the pound, get the ugliest fucker you see, and let him loose in the yard til the coyotes get him. He'll see more gophers than you even know are there. If that doesn't work, bb gun or wrist rocket from the balcony sounds pretty cool too, I'd be glad to help out with my old school gun.

BB Gun is too time consuming and not effective enough...bait is out of the question due to the dog and a cat is totally out of the question...I'd rather have gophers than a bitch ass cat

I believe I can get the side yard one w/ the hose and the backyard one will fall vicitm to a spring loaded trap...off to home depot

I had some insane battles back in the days I lived across from a field.

The water hose method was the most productive for me but it seemed like they got used to it and it stopped working as well. Some friends used this little mini windmill deal you stick in the ground, it's supposed to send out vibrations through the ground or some scientific shit, the swear it worked. :confused:

I always had a shovel in one hand and a BB gun in the other while flooded the holes. One shot to the head if it popped up, about a dozen stabs into the the general area if it came up and ducked back into the hole :exciter:

All I needed was a six pack of New Castle and I had my evening plans set, ahhh the good ol' days.

I ended up becoming a "trap master" and got em all that way...now i am working on rats...my neighbor has a BIG pine tree next to a date palm...the rats use my back fence as a highway...two days ago i got a 2 foot rat(w/ tail) w/ a buttered cashew...KILL EM ALL HIT THE LIGHTS!!!

When i lived in LOMPOC, i would watch these guys trap em,, then clean em and eat em.. Microwaved with top ramon and some veggies and cheesewhip..
