Short and sweet. Baptized the new vessel with a cali run to the kelp with Paul Lebowitz & Brandon Cotton. Set up a drift around the antennae and started chucking the slug. No surface action for a bit, then the birds started working...we all ended up doing well with the plastic dildos...fish from 10" to 4 1/2 lbs. Amazing how a calico will inhale something as big as itself! Missed a few big bites here and there, but stuck a bunch. Pretty awesome watching sportcoated rockets attack from the stringers and canopies, we all had a blast. Several other lures produced in between, including decent fish on swimbaits and TJWs. Water clarity was good, temp was about 60-61 (at least the FF said so).
In by 11 and off our separate ways (FH show/ work). My camera battery stayed in bed/ on the charger :idiot: but Brandon got a few pics, I'll post 'em up when I get 'em from 'im. Good times!

No pics of the new boat, it's actually RobK's old Crestliner if anyone's familiar with that. Paul & I went halves on it to break ourselves into boat ownership. Great fishing platform for what I want - since I target bass most of the time.
Drifter- 50# fluoro leader/65# braid for me. My normal rod & reel is the Teramar (H) & Curado 300...interestingly, both Paul and Brandon had the same combo. Fun as hell to fish the setup, but heartbreaks are the norm.
Just picked up the teramar 7'6" stick for the 300. Good to hear you like it.

Here's a couple - had the Cardiff on the slug stick due to frozen bearing on the Curado (don't slap me OoooOoooOooolie, I promise better future upkeep :nunu:)
