:rolleyes:Finally, with a little help from a friend, i got myself an new baitcaster, after great visit with one of the awesome guys at anglers choice i got myself a nice new Cardiff 201a with a Shimano rod to match, i seriously could not be more stoked! Now time to put it to use. I had friend in town for a couple days so we decided to hit up the MB early with another friend. Hit up a spot we'd wanted to try for a while, but couldn't get a fish to bite. After about an hour or so my friend had to go to work, and it didn't seem like there were any fish there so we relocated down to the big bay to try our luck. about third cast my friend R.J. hooks up with this pretty guy

after a little longer i had to head off to school fish less.
Not willing give up, and wanting more time with my new stuff, we headed back to SD bay after i got out of school. 30min later...

about another 30min and we were both tired of the rock hoping, i decided to take us back to where i'm a little more familiar with the fishing, MB.

i guess that was the problem, my lightsaber just wanted to catch its first fish on Fiesta because this guys showed up...

It was a great way to end the day using the new gear. took a little while to get used to, but i seriously could not be more stoked!...did i mention i love my new gear!

Ahhhhhhh, Yes,,, the playground, that special place where men can be boys again. zing Pow served all day. Birds, bait and backlashes all around.

Warm water with pockets of Bass, Bones, and Bonito. Ghost Shrimp fear the playground. Massive schools of Mullet. The place where its easy to lighten up the lead in your tackle box.

Where 40 pound spectra meets 6 pound floro. Tops shots rule, and props become damaged, hulls scrap the sand bars or go high and dry. Personal Bests are shattered with the flow of the tide.

Corvina chasing bait towards the shoreline, flatties busting topwater wide open in the shallows.. Ah, yes the playground,, its that time again boys......

Now, the question is,

do I turn right and head toward the kelp
or
do I turn left and welcome the morning sun as it warms your face, and the smell of morning toast wiffs through the air from our U.S. NAVY BOYS....

Whatever you do, make up your mind, cause its only a few weeks away....

Likewise, wish i could have talked longer but i had just gotten there and it was the only chance i had to try and check everything out. Nice heads up on the site, this one seems more chill.

Love it, still getting used to it as with anything new, but feels really comfortable
