okay.. so this being my first real report on the Smack.. it is photo heavy and will go into some detail...

First... after a months of working on her and getting her ready.. i am now a proud part owner (its really my father in laws, but will be mine) of a new boat "Jezebel"

She is a custom rebuilt 24 Morgan with a new 175 suzuki 4stroke...

Saturday was to be her first real off shore adventure and it was a good one....

we had a gentlemen's start to the day at 8am...traveled west (i am on the gulf side of florida) about 40 miles, winds were almost nothing and it was glassy conditions.

Got to our first of two spots and proceded to have a nice pick of Groupers ...

Most notable was this 27lbs red...

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28009.jpg

we picked up and made a move 10 miles deeper now about 130 deep....

and we hit pay dirt!

With every drop of a bait we starte hammer the Groupers.. Many were released, but we did keep our fair share.. Not much time for photo opps... but did get a few..

here is my buddy Todd with a nice Red...

and here i am with my two biggies..

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28022.jpg

So as we were fishing the bottom i hooked into a nice little Amberjack a kissing cousin of the Cali Yellowtail...

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28012.jpg

he was bout 10lbs...

Then we noticed the FF was all lit up...

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28019.jpg

and the chum was bringing up the big boys to the surface..

we did not have much in the way of live bait, but what we did have went to good use on some of the bigger models..

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28014.jpg

the result...35lbs

The result..

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28018.jpg29lbs

We caught 6-7 of them and had our fill ....all released to fight another day....

Also caught but not pictured a couple nice blacktip sharks..

Called it a day and headed back home...

Cleaned the fish and the boat.. This guy and his buddies ate all the scraps..

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28038.jpgignore the dates all taken this weekend..

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc290/youshootmyguy/3-28039.jpg

oh.. and here is shot of the the Showstopper....

You should have named the boat BEEJ in memory. Replaced??? I doubt that. Maybe he is just renting space but there is no replacement. Bet you don't yell at him :nunu:. Anyhow, sick boat my friend, glad you got a new ho to do the dirty work. Even on the other side of the land you still have more YT for teh year than I do. :ras: You got a nice freezer full of eats now with those groups.
