Park your ass in front of your Audio-Video device and tune it to channel 4 and pop
the top off a ice cold real premium beer in a real glass bottle (6 for 8 bucks).

Yes! Baseball returns! Great matchup to kick it off. Those prices are why I LOVE Channel 4!

I know. This goes into the beat to death and then mush subject matter category.
Check this out. Dude did some research (and some math *ouch!* ) on prices, history and profit on beer and food.

Now when they say they have raised prices on beer to "discourage excessive drinking through higher prices", I can appreciate that. So, what's the reason for the prices on a four dollar hotdog? What's the price that they pay (bulk discount) for a hot dog and a bun? 40 cents FCS?

They say they are discouraging the beer drinkers in favor of a more family-friendly environment through the higher beer prices. How does $4.50 for a tiny little bag of peanuts and $4.00 for eight or so handfulls of popcorn tell you to load up the station wagon and bring all the kids???

The minimum price for a nose bleed seat at PetCo Park is $15.00 (I know, advanced purchase and bleacher "seats" are cheaper) I gotta admit though, with the smaller, steeper stadium that the "far away" seats don't seem that far away. It is a nice looking, bright ballpark with some of the feel of an old school park.
But by making every seat an inch or two thinner, and the foot room/aisle thinner to get that many more seats into the tight spot they picked for the new ballpark, making it all that much more awkward and uncomfortable, along with the cost of food and beverages that make it a true "take me out to the ball game" experience, they have talked me out of being as much a fan as I'd like. I rarely go (once last year, twice the year before). Oh! and I almost forgot: Parking cost plus making it so difficult to get parking together with friends that they've eliminating yet another main ingredient of the Baseball Game experience... TAILGATING!
I even watch the games on TV less because of the not going anymore. It's a damn shame. I used to really look forward to going and watching and just getting excited about Baseball! Not going to the actual game sort of just sucked out all the enthusiasm I had for the sport.

Well, I'm through bitching. Peavy's doing alright. Even got a couple of RBIs. Gonzalez just flew out for the third out, bottom of the 6th with bases loaded. 3-0 Padres and we got new smilies: :HugItOutBitch: :sun-smile: :Ganjaman:

I saw that article, what a ripoff. They should have a tub of vaseline at the counter. The last time I went to Petco, I got a SLICE of chocalate cake and a soda... $11.00 :idiot: That was a great game, Peavy looked in mid-season form. Can you say Back to Back Cy Youngs.
C. Y. Tonite. Play Ball!!
