Anyone else set their traps for the season opener?
I put 4 in some hot areas.
I harvested 6 back November in a different location, so I'm confident with my technique.
And I've found evidence of a healthy population in the Northern areas.
Finally on March 1st, I had a sighting, actually several sightings.
I've spent the last few days tuning up my weapons, making sure all my hunting equipment was working.
I woke up this morning before sunrise and set out my 4 traps during gray light.
I expect limits tomorrow morning and I'm certain that the bite will last a few days.
Here's some pics of my weapons. I'll post my kills tomorrow.
Get some.

LOL!
GET SOME!!!
Hey there Steamy, are you, ah, in the proper possesion the correct license and big game tags for hunting them? I hear that the zone discriptions of the area tags are confusing.
Also, I'm not certain but I believe there is a no baiting provision in the regs while hunting them............
Just remember to hunt safely, ethically, sportingly, and make sure it is a clean kill.

Holy shit! I thought it was gonna be a night bite, but that New Moon has them active during the day. The bathroom sector is swarming with them
1st Shot was a hit, but not a kill shot....
But my prey left a blood trail for me to follow

What are you using for bait?
cream cheese
Get the ones with the glue on them, trap the mice, and open up a live bait section in the shop?

I wonder if his buddies came out and carried him off to the mousey field hospital where the mousey nurses and mousey surgeons are now patching him back up. I hope he didn't leave a mousey family behind.
I tell ya, ya really gotta respect what those deployed mice do for thier mousey nation.

Nate, you frikkin' meat hunter you! You really need to evolve into a real sportsman and go for the trophies of the species.
And real sportsmen don't need to use bait. But hopefully you'll evolve and grow out of that phase.
Is the hunt taking place on your own private reserve or is it on public property?
What is the game density per acre where you are huntin'?

Cream cheese ain't bait, it's scent. You've gotta throw a Gulp! vs. Unibutter contest. Do it.
Make sure you don't release that feller into the crapper, he might mutate and throw the parking lot turd through your front window. :cheerleader:
