It's getting better out there. With the YF bite going so well offshore most may not be interested in this right now but it is getting better countwise.
The bass are now working the shad in mid-channel areas on-and-off during the day. We had good scores useing lipless cranks, suspended type hard bodied jerkbaits and Lil' George type tail spinners while they were doing this during the day. It was most likely going on more than we noticed but whenever we saw dimples of bait or busting bass over deep water we'd move the boat close and got a few.
Much better (than the Wednesday before) TW action going on in the mornings. Spooks and poppers were bit.
Not WFO action anywhere we fished and all bass were the same cookie cutter size but it was fun and it was a nice break from offshore fishing.
