What's up fellas? It's been a while since I have been on here and posted and now that the hunting seasons are over here I figured I would post some pics of the results. I didn't take as many pics as I should have but I will post some pics of the ducks that I am having mounted when they are done and of the whitetail buck that I shot on the King Ranch last weekend on the 23rd.

A great looking ringneck drake and his girlfriend. I shot them both with one shot and I am still kicking myself for not taking the drake to my taxidermist.

This was a good day at the lease with a friend of mine and that wigeon drake went to the taxidermist.

This is the whitetail doe fawn that my dad has been raising on a bottle since it's mom was hit on the highway.

Another good day, that blue wing drake went to the taxidermist and we should've had a lot more birds but we were both sucking hind tit on the knocking birds down.

I got to go shoot an axis buck in November and damn does he taste good some of the best chili you will ever eat. It was a great hunt having my oldest son there. You would've thought he shot it.

My wife got me a hunt on an exotic ranch for this red stag for Christmas. I shot him while he was trotting away from us at about 80 yards. I shot for upper neck and him in the back of the skull with a 300 WINMAG. I got to take my 2 oldest boys and my stepbro.

I also got to shoot a solid white fallow doe. I shot her at 80 yards with my 17HMR behind the shoulder and she only ran 5 yards before stumbling and going down.

We got to see some other nice animals also. This is a scimitar horned oryx.

Hey Allen, I got to see this finally. I also sent you a personal note.

Good looking animals.

I like the pic and story of the fawn your dad is feeding. Will it turn out like it did in Marjory Kinnon Rawling's "The Yearling" ? "Hit was frightful pa, just frightfull."

Hope you and the boys are doing fine. Looks like you're getting them out in the field with you.

One of these days I'd surely like to come on down there for a hunt with you guys. Looks interesting and differant from what I'm used to.

You're allowed to hunt big game there in Texas with a 17HMR??????

Now, the Oryx...........that has to be on some kind of game ranch. Yes? No? Those things just aren't there running around and surviving outside of a ranch in the wild are they?
If on a game ranch how much $$$$$$$$ to be able to hunt there. Seasons?

Well, keep in touch.

In Texas you can legal hunt any imported or exotic game and hogs with anything you want as long as the ranch you are hunting on is ok with it. Oh and you can also shoot them year round. Some animals they (the ranch) will shut down doe hunts for a while because they are bred. The guide was kind of iffy on it when I brought the 17 out but originally it was as a backup for my stepbro who was going to shoot it with his 7-08 but it was a long drawn out chase and I finally had the best shot opportunity on her.

The ranch is 500 acres in the hill country and the price depends on the animal. I think the oryx is in the $3,000 range. They had sika, fallow, axis, elk, stag, auodad, mouflon, black hawaiians, buffalo, zebra, black buck, and watusi. They have other properties that have other animals too. It's just a matter of how deep your pockets are. My wife got a good deal on this hunt for the stag and fallow doe it was $850 with $150 guide fee. Most places want $1500 just for a stag.
