Rolled the boycanoetaxi out to the forest with Paul Lebowitz & John Pawlak for some hump day/post-tax day palabrax piercing...slow, windy, lumpy start. Birds started up south of us and we swung over to take a looksee - it was a giant bass/cuda/bait moshpit. Set our drift and it was ON.

Chucked the slugs, TJWs, plastics - whatever the specific boil location called for. Bass were bombing bait on the surface, a nicer grade bass too. Initial 3's gave way to 4's and eventually we were swinging 6's over the rails. High fives, maniacal laughter, diving net jobs...off the hook! Paul had big fish with a 6.5...our best five went over 25 pounds.

As quickly as it lit up - it went dead. Current slacked, we managed a few more and it was back to the barn by noon...with shit eating grins. GETCHOOSUM!

Water temp was 58-59...water looked nice and PL green, about 3-6 foot vis.

Nice uphill current for the early on, all the weeds came floating up later and it was done. Water still did look a bit rolled in some spots, but overall good look to it.

Fishing the slug, and watching a bass explode on it is one great sight.

It takes some time fishing the MC SLUG but once you get the motion down, its HAWG TIME FOR SURE... There is no better way (in my very small book) to fish toad calicos, no way at all.....

Nice going fellas, sorry I could not make it..

more photos from the round robin of photography...my shots eneded up whack - be sure to make sure a huge dried up salt spray droplet isn't on your lens :idiot:

John got this shot just as a calico blew up on my slug, pretty cool:
