first train in, last train out.... fished with the fellas from Anglers Center, so the talent was on the boat, but the fishing was helmut. ultra slow pick thru the whole day, with a fish here and a fish there type of bite. no one area was better than another... picked em off in the back water and *tight* along the outside tree line. tried some deeper stuff, but got no love on the suspenders. highlight of the day was getting freight trained and almost having my rod yanked outta my hand waaaaay back in PC. made several recasts on the spot, but couldnt get the culprit to re-commit.

besides that, just a hot, gorgeous day, a lot of comedic back'n'forth chatter and 19 more bass to add to the years total @ Barrett. all fish caught on spinnerbaits.

with air/H20 temps on the rise, these fish should be sliding down the points/banks and up onto the structure spots very soon, as we meter'd 81 degree water on Sat on the up & down.

absolutely not... the weather was gorgeous, our beers stayed cold, the scenery was stellar, i had 3 steak 'n' cheese sandwiches and i laughed my ass off.

i chalked it up as a win.

I was out there... hangin with my lady.. I looked for you in the morning Duane.. but never saw you either..
Looks like you guys did alot better than us.. we got 0 bass and about 15 gillies..

2 more dates for me this month. Then I'm not going to Barrett untill Sept. I've been killin' SMB and LMB at the River/canal (not so at Barrett) this year so I'm not wasting money going to Barrett until later in the year. Plus the boats will be here 06-24 with a nice full schedule for offshore duty.


Crippled anchovetta, if you'd like to "fish" Barrett I have a car/'yak spot for Wednesday, 06-23 for ya. NC. Just use my name and go in on my ticket. Let me know if you want to use it.

gotta couple more days out there this month as well, then taking a break til sept too. hopefully things will shape up nicely @ the lake by then.

feel good about giving the place hell over the last 2 months tho, thats for sure.
