im taking off to maui on sunday for a week, so i had to squeeze in one more quick PLK run to tie me over... launched from Dana MB, hung a left out of the jetties and hit the south PL bean stalks by 7am. loads of bait in the water and birds working all the way down the line, inside & outside..
got things rolling on the first cast and kept a steady pick for a couple hours. good grade of 15-17 inch fish, with a couple dinks thrown in. i got one that was 18.5 but levi is about as talented as a donkey with a camera, so no pic...
shortly after that i got handed a healthy serving of zing pow on straight 30lb braid... this fish was pissed and busted me off in the middle of the thick stuff in about 35ft of water. rocked me in 5 seconds flat. kinda bummed me out cuz he got my favorite jig too. i marked his home on the plotter and will be back to pay a visit soon... :nunu:
from there we pluked a few more stock versions before the wind and marine layer showed up about 11:30. it got chilly and we got hungry, so we called it a morning...
overall solid bite out there and despite the still frigid water temp (57.7-59) the fish were active all the way up the stringers.
*side-note* - i got one really bad bleeder, so we took her home and checked out her egg situation... very small sack. looked like she had at least 3-4 more weeks to go before she was gonna be even close to ready. just a little tid bit 'o' info for ya's...
