made a run out to the big B again this past sunday. fished with levi and mason... typical first train in, last train out session. started in the back of Hauser throwing assorted TW's and blades. got some good blow-up action, but nothing would stick on the TW. levi hung a few on the blade before the sun peeked over the hill, then we switched over to various rigged plastics and continued to pick em off here and there.
at about 8am, we started to see some fish busting out in the open water, so we set up a drift and what do ya know... they wanted to bite. so we honed in on a particular zone that seemed to have consistent action and let the games begin. plugged away at them with the cranks and put 80 fish in the boat by 10:30am.
from there we decided to take a poke around the lake to see what else we could get into. motored back into PC for a couple of fish, but couldnt really find anything better (size or bite wise) then what we had back in Hauser, so back we went....
slid into the back of Hauser again around 2:30pm and found the fish right where we had left them. proceeded to put the hammer down on them for the next 3 hours. doubles, triples, followers, etc.... bass doing backflips and waves of shad running for their lives across the surface. after about 3 hours of that, we had enough and jammed back out to main lake to try to find something new. ended up flinging lizzy's at the tree line for a handful more fish to wrap up the day.
ended up with 183 LMB and a single Bluegill for our efforts. most fish were in the the 10-14 inch range, with a couple chunkier versions and a few rats mixed in. all in all, another bitchen day at Barrett with awesome surroundings, lots of laughs and killer fishing.
