Took a ride down to SD for the annual Day at the Docks, this was my first time going to it and i wanted my family to be there with me,..first stop was at Hometown buffet where we met up with GardenMartha, had some breakfast and parted ways, she was planning on getting to the event a little later. Got to Shelter Island at 10am, got on one of those double decker shuttle rides to the docks, it was pretty quick.
Man, this place had it all, from tackle to seminars, from games and to kids getting to fish, there was so much that we wanted to do but limited ourselves to going on a couple of the long rangers, instead of having Deliah fish for mackeral we put her on a kayak, first time and i was so proud! she was trying to paddle looking so cute! i was pushing her from shore to dock, then she got away from me and was drifting pass Point Loma sportfishing and headed out to the harbor! LOL ,..she started to get a little scared and cried, luckily Steve and Sharon were on the bridge helping her out, encouraging her to paddle just on one side so she can turn around,.. finally made that turn and headed straight to me! all by herself, God i was so pround of her, cant wait to put her on a kayak again soon,..
We walked around the place, buying some shirts for the girls, looked at some antique tackle, had the kids play some games and stopped by the BD booth,..finally met some peeps and got to put a face on the SNs, like Tommy of Uni-goop, never got to get a taco from them, line was too long cause everyone got word they were the bomb! seen Dos Locos making his way around the crowds,.. i met Capt. David Bacon, told him how much i admire his passion for the sport and loved reading his articles, got a pic with him as well! i dont think we got to see everything and we didnt run into other BDers who were also at the event, sorry we didnt get to meet you all,..
Kicked it here and there at the Baja Fish Gear booth, Steve and Sam had some great deals on tuna feathers but no matter what will have great deals at the shop in Lomita, if you guys havent made the trip to the shop in Lomita then you are missing out on some good prices and a large variety of tackle for Baja, the Surf, Local fishing and more,..they are soon gonna open up an all fishing apparel store, hats, shirts, shorts, you name it they will have it,..cant wait to start getting my gear from that place soon, i'll let you all know when it opens up,..
well enough chit chat, heres the pics from the day, hope you all like them! cant wait to go back next year, i didnt get a chance to check out the Red Rooster III, thats the one long ranger i will be on one day in the future when the kids are grown and i've won the lottery,..
