Saddled up and hit the Barrett opener with Mason and Levi... a great looking lake lead to high expectations that didn't let us down.
Spent our first 7 hours working Hauser for an absolutely ridiculous pick on the bass. The AM topwater bite was phenomenal and by 10am we had over 100 fish and were playing with the dealer's money. Continued working some of our favorite spots on our way outta Hauser, laying wood from the back, all the way to the entrance.
Left Hauser biting, jammed over to Pine Creek around noon-ish and settled into a good pattern that kept us umbrella'd for another good 3 hours. The rubber and reaction bite was full-speed back there.
After PC, we fished Main Lake and continued on with the stellar fishing. Doubles, triples, tree-fish (aka when your bait hangs from a tree and bass jump out of the water and eats it), lots of high-fives and lots of laughs.
From there we finished up the day with another killer reaction/topwater bite at the entrance to Hauser that went 'til the buzzer. Once the dust settled, we ended up with over 340 fish, including 7 better grade models. Overall, Laurie and Jules said it was one of the best openers they've had in quite sometime.
For those hitting it this weekend.. the fish are everywhere. Shallow, deep, in the trees and up in rocks. All you need is some rubber, a topwater plug and a few blades to really make things happen. Go get em!
