Hit Barrett on Sunday with Ceez and Levi. First train in, last train out... Spent the morning in Hauser, under overcast skies til about 10am. Got into 'em really good on the topwater gear and swimbaits til the sun cracked thru. From there we got into a full-speed jig bite for a couple hours. 3/8oz natural colored jigs w/ blue and/or purple craw trailers were getting ripped in about 25 feet of water along a long stretch of steep, rocky shoreline. If we didnt get bit on the drop, then we'd give it a couple shakes and it was instant. Straight flush of 2-3 lb chunky bass with the occasional slab crappie mixed in.
After putting more than our fair share of jig fish on the tab, the wind picked up, so we switched up our approach and went on a crankbait rampage. We bounced around from shoreline to shoreline and absolutely laid the wood to the chunky Barrett bass and slab crappie until the final buzzer @ 7pm.
Ended the day with 278 LMB, 46 Crappie and a Bluegill. 80% of our fish came off of hardbaits, the rest came on the jig and swimbait.
It's as good as it gets out there gang... get out there and get your licks in!
