Memorial Day Kelp - 5/26/08 - REPORT

made a gentlemans run (9am-2pm) to the home kelp today. fished mainly south of the college in decent green 65 degree water for an ok pick on the calico. caught em up and down the stalk on uni-buttered covered swimmies & reebs kelp assasins. had a couple big heartbreakers thrown in the mix, but the overall action was slow on the quality sized fish. got a billy goat and butt load of sugar bass on the butter-drenched slow crawl too...

i made it out on saturday with the lady but ended up towing in a couple of nice guys and their (young) children who were stuck in la jolla kelp. they were calling sea tow for close to 30 minutes on the radio with no reply. Brand new 2006 Sea Pro with 225 Merc, once I got them back to MB, I took a look at their engine and they had just busted a shifter cable. I missed a day of fishing to do the right thing.
