just an FYI - surf fished scripps last night. got there just minutes before the sunset with my neighbor. he hooked up first with a decent perch, i set the hook on what turned out to be a 7" bean (1st of 2008) while unhooking his perch. a couple casts later, another decent bean for me. then the perch went non-stop getting bigger and bigger as the night progressed until the bite shut off at 9pm. very fun, best fishing at scripps of 2008. sand crabs and clams everywhere and i got a couple perch over 12" with shoulders, big enough to get a thumb in their mouths.

we had a camera but didn't take pics. i made a mention to my buddy who brought his slr we should get a pic after the first bean, but we ended up not taking any photo's cause the action was that good for a bit. once it was over so was the photo op.
