Talk about a good time... 6/25/08 - LJK/PLK REPORT

met up with my buddies afran and davey on wednesday to do a little kelp bassin'. launched MB and headed to PLK first for a handful of fish. south winds got annoying and before we knew it, the water rolled to chocolate milk. did a little recon, but couldnt find and any other decent water in the area, so we tucked tail and jammed up to LJK. got up to the NW corner and was greeted with nice water, loads of life, tons of bait and a lot of calico that wanted to play... whacked 'em good on the iron, with some swimbait and Uni-Buttered up jig fish tossed in for good measure. gotta love it when they chew good...

you wouldnt believe the donk calicos we saw rolling around on weds man. and when i say donk, i mean 8lb+ fish rolling around and displacing TONS of water. i thought they were YT at first til i saw their backs... these slugs were no joke. if you dont run offshore this weekend, definitely try the NW corner mats.
