Launched at early out of SI off to the 302 and had lines in the water at 6ish. My girl was wearing her chicken shirt and I knew it was going to be a good day.

Was able to get a couple of buckets of dead baits stopping by dana on Friday afternoon from returning fisherman. Landed on the high spot at 7:00am and picked our first there, and then headed west on a course between the 371 and the 230.

Found an area with a temp break a little further than half way there, baited the area with a mixture of dead and live bait and got a lot of surface action. My girlfriend pulled a second one trolling a live dine the perimeter of the fish I raised.

Those albies are hard to get to the boat baiting them, but we did get them to come up and feed.

Then we got infiltrated by one boat who saw our feeding fish, who raced in full speed and radioed out that had breakers before he got his lines in the water and gave out the numbers (thanks jackass); prior to that we had less than two boats in a mile or two surrounding the area. Within 20 minutes there were about two dozen boats in the area.

We decided to move on to another area in the same temp break that was closer to the 230, when we metered fish and found a paddy holding fish at 200' I started baiting them and slowly they came up, these fish were BFT, we could not get them up passed 30' from the surface but they were feeding. Tried to feed them some pierced bait but they let it pass. As we took off from that paddy after wasting more than half our bait trying to raise them, our furthest troller (cedar plug) which had just been hanging gets nailed, unfortunately for us when we moved the rods around the line was wrapped around the reel and we lost the fish and had to cut off about 30 yards of frayed line. I was absolutely livid with my technical error, there was a good chance it was one of those BFT.

After that point in day 11am there were enough boats in the area it was hard to work a line. Funny to me I ran the temp break along it NW to SE, while the majority of the boats ran north to south thru it crossing over it. I was disappointed that there were so many people with no fishing etiquette out there. I would be working a line following the tempbreak and throwing out bait when I metered fish then sweep back through the area when the fish were breaking, and two three boats at a time would gun and run right in front of me and try and throw bait on breakers or position it so their lines would be cut if I didn't slow down while they cut off my troll. :nunu: I'm not sure if these people understand that you stand a better chance of catching if you troll side by side in an area working together in an area where you know there are fish, then to just run the fish right over. Maybe it’s a local thing, cause several boats which did this to me were BD'ers who do a fair share of posting, next time I'm bringing my video camera and going to post links to that shit right on their posts. :catfight:

Aside from that we had a great day. We picked up another chicken on our way in closer to the 302 on a blind strike, cedar again. That was the end of the fishing for us, we trolled our way back to the 9 from the 302 and got some Bonies on the way back. All in all not a bad day on the water, but next time I run offshore I will make it a week day.
