Pre-fished ALOT. north, mostly boilers, a lil on the kelp lines.
You saw previous posts with BIG bass on the iron.
Kept witht the game plan and it worked like a charm. Shot north without a boat in site.
Fisrt spot, brians second cast, 3 11 on the Candybar.
Two casts later, I see a GIANT gold flash dog-bone my Candybar in the boilers. NET! Scale read 8-2 to 8-11. Lost some weight in the tank.
As im weighing, clipping, and documenting size, Brian screams for the net. Sory bro, im busy, So I throw the net up front, and he bags a 7.5. all these on consecutive casts. and netted it all on his own.
Were at about 17 or 18 pounds by 730ish. With only three fish.
Sun came up, amd the jig bite died. So we hit the outside stringers. Lots of short bites, and one 1 1/2 cali. All on the P E A R L swimmies.....Gerry!
4 fish, 20 lbs. and we werent contempt. Fished some inside stuff for a kicker, but got another 1 1/2er to fill out the limit. Plus a 10 pound hali that I swore was our kicker sand bass to win it. Threw him all back all pissed!
Ended up in 2nd place with a 5 fish total of 21.49. All sportcoats.
I got 2nd in big fish jackpot with a 8.25 cali, and Bri had a 7 plus. And ended up in 2nd place overall.
Good times. Great people. And a trophy for the living room. Pics.......
Our two big fish. Mine 8.25, Brians 7.48
