so i got me a TD Luna 300L this morning for throwing big baits at the gigantic striper in the Long Island sound and for throwing my bigger swimmies and for various socal NaCl H2O applications on my stint home in June.....

Lay it on me Oolie, how can I make my lefty Luna OooOooOollie approved and strong like bull? Upgrade suggestions Mr. OooOOOOoOOoOoOllie. :muscles:

it feels nice, but I want to replace the plastic parts if thats an option.

there's a drag upgrade i'll send you post some pics of saturday, when i get up to the shop, as for replacing the plastic, you wouldn't want to, the reason they use plastic idle gears is in case you get your finger caught between either the levelwind and the frame, or the levelwind's pawl cap and the frame. that way you won't loose a finger if it happens while fighting a fish that's pulling tons of drag.
you can also put a bearing in each knob, or replace the knobs with custom ones, or replace the handle altogether with a large single knob, or power handle.

Thanks Mike, a drag upgrade sounds solid. I think I'm good with the stock handle, don't want it looking like some live bait contraption....Very much looking forward to your breakdown homepiece
