One of our estemed members refuses to put up reports or pictures on this or any other site because he feels it's grandstanding.

However, I beg to differ on this latest series of pictures of his adventures.

Sorry buddy, you may counsel me on my unforgivable breach of etiquette, but this is going up on this site.

Oh man, first time I saw this post! Alaska, oh, just amazing. Such an open, incredible WILD country. I wanted to paddle on around the next point, and the one after that, and on and on, 'cause the possibility feels inexhaustible. Yes, that's a foolish and naive view and I'm getting way too deep. Let's just say the land and sea pulsed with life. I loved every minute.

Anyway, the photos were taken in and around Seward and Resurrection Bay at the base of the Kenai Peninsula. The ice shots are Pedersen Glacier in Kenai Fjords, where we kayak camped our way down the coast. Frickin' cold in that glacial lagoon, but surreal and amazing.

The salmon fishing was ok in Resurrection Bay - got two silvers and C&R'ed a bunch of pinks. Not till we got far away from civilization did the bottom fishing get good. We wanted Lingzilla, a 40 or 50-lb'er. Had to settle for his half-size brother and smaller, but not for lack of trying. I fished 12-in FishTraps and an enormous foot long grub on an 8 oz head. The rockies were nice - got into a school of cookie-cutter blacks - they weighed out at 7 lbs.

If you get the opportunity to travel to Alaska, GO - sell your needless crap, cash in airline miles, visit the plasma center.
